| update 24-10-25 | 1. several new (ie second hand..) analogue preamps and bits of outdated recording equipment have found their places in our modified setup over the last few weeks. it’s not some paradise for vintage analogue heads but it IS practical & does allow us to move away from even a nodding aquaintance with the computer. 2. perhaps it is time to dig the old Revox out again? over the last few years we have sold both a Tascam 8 track and a Fostex 2 track reel-to-reel, as well as a Studiomaster 24:16:2 analogue mixing console (amomg many other things) but the Revox somehow stayed put. 3. relocation plans put back on hold until next year due to time issues. | |
| update 16-10-25 | 1. new music continues to eat up all available time, as well as re-adjusting back to instruments not used for a a very long time. 2. older acoustic instruments pulled out of storage require a little care and attention in the workshop beyond just new strings. 3. not enough hours in the day so the early hours are being regularly untilised | |
| update 02-09-25 | 1. renewed IT access still holding. 2. ‘rb’ (tbc) project taking a more ‘clunky’ human form. 3. raft of new work now seriously underway to accompany the ‘rb’ (tbc) project. 4. relocation plans moving forward. | |
| update 15-08-25 | 1. temporary fixed website access fix thankfully still holding. 2. music arrangement & recording moving on. sales of equipment proceeding as we re-plan studio in preparation for move likely later this year. | |
| update 08-08-25 | after an 18 hour shift yesterday pulling everything to bits both websites are now fully accessible, and our reimagined and reconfigured (but still outdated) IT system seems to be coping so far after backing itself up overnight. | |
| murmurs 07-08-25 | the fledgling ‘r-b’ (tbc) project continues in spite of current IT difficulties, or perhaps because of them. more news of this soon. as a consequence are seeking to rely less on changeable and unreliable current technology; which seems to be inflicting its own kind of twisted logic on the world. we WILL get a simplified website sorted out soon for both .com and .org. we are updating this page via an old IT set up (and in spite of the red warning script) thanks to the flexibility of our new web host. | |
| projects 01-08-25 | the new ‘r-b’ (tbc) project has taken over as the centre of our work. we are also making looking to relocate before redeveloping our studio space. it seems likely that there will be significant changes next month – fingers crossed… (we might even have a new website laptop by then) | |
| update 08-07-25 | a somewhat difficult summer so far can be summed up thus: we lost the use of our main website computer the day after committing to the upgrading of our in house recording equipment. the supplier failed to honour the warranty given as it had gone out of business. something had to give, so regular web updates were sacrificed to our workflow. this IT failure has also meant that we cannot access twangcorp.com, which has been frozen as a result. NOTE: online trade will still be taking place via Reverb or eBay. | |
| murmur 06-2025 | we seem to be losing our key website and production computer at a when we are fully committed in other directions. watch this space.. | |
| murmur 04-2025 | building on 03-2025 and preparing for other challenges in 05-2025 that will largely determine where we will be based next year. this appears cryptic but for the moment it must be . | |
| recording 03-2025 | this busy but frustrating eclipse month culminated in twangcorp finding (at last!) a long discontinued 1st Generation Tascam DP24 multitrack recorder with MIDI from 2013, in apparently pristine condition. although digital, it is now earmarked as being the central plank in the first phase of our projected old-skool recording process, and initially is earmarked for an album of mainly live recordings. its place on the stand in the project studio is reserved pending arrival in early April, whereupon it will surely have its work cut out to clear the backlog of compositons and archives. more importantly, this long planned step should mean more freedom from a computer at all stages of the recording process. | |
| musical projects 01 + 02 2025 | composition, arrangement + recording ongoing on new material. this long overdue process has become very involved. | |
| MeFog 05-01-25 | the windswept MeFog video demo videos from 2011 have been found + uploaded to our new archive channel on YouTube (05-01-2025). they can also be found in the archives section of twangcorp [alt]. More demos to follow (once we find them). | |
| strides or hops? 01-2025 | new logo introduced, then reintroduced. new pages + layout coming + going. image revision + other things. work continues in draft. working ‘alt-tw..’ title is modified to be consistently stated + read as ‘twangcorp [alt]’ alongside the main ‘twangCORP (lite)’ website | |
| to + fro 29-12-24 | resolving illogical web design protocols + terminology in WP. navigation back under control. the prototype website cut back in order to go forward. | |
| com/org? 24-12-24 | background: twangcorp.com changed hosts in Nov 24, while saying goodbye to certain software licences. ‘twangcorp [alt]’ is to host + develop those elements + ideas that don’t fit within the twangCORP-lite website, which was completely revised in December 2024. this will include unusual or interesting items that would otherwise have been archived, or were incongruous, or simply wouldn’t work or needed a rethink. we hope some of this stuff will be possible here. | |
| murmur 23-12-24 | comments + links that relate to activities here + twangCORP.com. a limited but flexible space, which can respond to events + ideas. |
